Introduced in 2020, the Ford Bronco Sport is a recent addition to Ford’s SUV lineup. Instead of being built body-on-frame like its big brother the Ford Bronco, the Bronco Sport has a unibody design. This construction allows the Bronco Sport to weigh significantly less than other Ford SUVs like the Ford Edge and the Explorer. As a result, the new Ford Bronco Sport is able to achieve great handling, impressive power, and excellent fuel economy.
The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is the latest lineup under the Bronco sub-brand. It is exclusively in four-wheel drive (FWD) and is offered in five trim options. The Bronco Sport starts with the Big Bend, which Bronco fans are familiar with, and tops out with the Badlands, an off-road monster. Other options include Heritage, Free Wheeling, and Outer Banks. Except for the Badlands package, the Bronco Sport’s powertrain is an adequate 1.5-liter inline-three that peaks at 181 hp and 190 pound-feet of torque. Exclusive to Badlands is a muscular 2.0-liter inline-four that churns 250 hp and 277 pound-feet of torque. And it’s enough to give an additional 200 pounds of towing for the Bronco crossover.
Ford Bronco Sport Standard Features
All 2025 Ford Bronco Sport trims have at least a 7.8-inch ground clearance, which increases to 8.6 inches with the Badlands package. A cargo area of 32.5 cubic feet is also standard, for a maximum of 65.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Inside the Bronco Sport, you have a 13.2-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration and Bluetooth, front and rear cupholders, voice-activated automatic air-conditioning, carpet front floor mats, and two 12-volt DC outlets. The base model Big Bend is also adorned with easy-to-clean cloth upholstery. If you want the most premium experience, go for the Badlands trim, which comes standard with leather-trimmed power front seats.
Is the Ford Bronco Sport Good on Gas?
Being a lightweight SUV at about 3,500 pounds, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport has terrific fuel economy. The Big Bend trim is rated for 25 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.
